Krrish 4 delayed: Siddharth Anand exits, Rakesh Roshan to not direct film

The much-anticipated Bollywood film “Krrish 4” has encountered significant setbacks, leading to delays in its production and release. Initially, director Siddharth Anand was brought on board to helm the project; however, he has since stepped away due to concerns over the film’s substantial budget, reportedly estimated at ₹700 crore. This financial magnitude has made production houses hesitant to commit, especially considering the evolving landscape of superhero cinema in the post-Marvel era.

Compounding these challenges, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who directed the previous installments of the “Krrish” series, has confirmed his decision to retire from directing. He expressed that it is time to “pass on the baton” to a new director, acknowledging the unpredictability of success and emphasizing the need for fresh creative vision.

The combination of Anand’s departure and Roshan’s retirement has left the project without a director, prompting the producers to seek new creative leadership. This transition, along with the need to reassess the film’s budget and production feasibility, has contributed to the postponement of “Krrish 4,” with reports suggesting that the release may be delayed until 2026.

Despite these hurdles, lead actor Hrithik Roshan and the production team remain committed to bringing “Krrish 4” to fruition. They are actively engaging with various studios and exploring collaborations to navigate the financial and creative challenges. Fans of the franchise, which began with “Koi… Mil Gaya” in 2003 and continued with “Krrish” in 2006 and “Krrish 3” in 2013, remain hopeful that the superhero saga will eventually return to the big screen.

As the situation develops, audiences await official announcements regarding the new director and revised timelines for “Krrish 4.” In the meantime, Hrithik Roshan is focusing on other projects, including “War 2,” directed by Ayan Mukerji, which is currently in production.

The journey of “Krrish 4” underscores the complexities of filmmaking, especially for high-budget ventures in a rapidly changing cinematic landscape. While the road ahead is challenging, the dedication of the cast and crew keeps the hope alive for the next chapter of India’s beloved superhero franchise.
