“I’ll Expose Everyone”: Suniel Shetty Claims Ahan Shetty Targeted for Saying Yes to Border 2

Veteran actor Suniel Shetty has broken his silence in a fiery statement defending his son Ahan Shetty, who is all set to star in the highly anticipated war drama Border 2. The senior Shetty has alleged that Ahan is being unfairly targeted in the industry ever since he gave his nod to the project, calling it a deliberate attempt to sabotage the young actor’s rise.

Speaking to the media during a promotional event in Mumbai, Suniel Shetty said, “Ahan has worked hard to earn his place. Ever since he signed Border 2, the negativity around him has increased dramatically. There’s a lobby trying to pull him down. But I won’t stay silent anymore — I’ll expose everyone behind this if it continues.”

Ahan’s Role in Border 2

Border 2, the spiritual successor to the iconic 1997 film Border, is being directed by Anurag Singh and stars Sunny Deol, alongside younger talent including Ahan Shetty and Ayushmann Khurrana. Ahan plays a key role as a young soldier grappling with the harsh realities of war — a performance insiders say could be a game-changer for his career.

Industry Politics?

Though Suniel Shetty refrained from naming names, he hinted at pressure from “influential circles” who were unhappy with Ahan being part of a patriotic film with such a legacy. “He said yes to a film that celebrates India’s heroes. And suddenly, he’s no longer on certain guest lists, meetings are being cancelled, and people are spreading baseless rumours,” Suniel claimed.

He added, “If this is the price you pay for doing a film about the country, then something is seriously wrong. This is beyond competition — this is sabotage. And I will not let it happen to my son.”

Industry Reacts

While some industry figures have chosen to remain silent, a few voices have come forward in support of the Shettys. Filmmaker JP Dutta, who directed the original Border, posted on social media:
“Suniel stood by me in 1997. I stand by him now. Let the new generation tell the story too. Don’t drag talent into politics.”

Meanwhile, actress Raveena Tandon tweeted, “Bollywood needs to stop eating its own. Ahan is a promising actor. Let him grow.”

Ahan Maintains Silence

Ahan Shetty has so far chosen not to comment on the controversy. Close sources say the actor is focused on intense training for the film’s physically demanding role, including weapons training and boot camp drills.

What’s Next?

Suniel Shetty concluded his remarks with a clear message: “Let the audience decide Ahan’s fate, not agendas and vendettas. We are not afraid. We come from the soil and will stand our ground.”

With Border 2 expected to release on Independence Day 2025, all eyes are now on Ahan Shetty — and the industry — to see how this high-stakes drama plays out, both on screen and off.
